
Harald Uhlig is the Bruce Allen and Barbara Ritzenthaler Professor in Economics and the College at the University of Chicago. His research focuses on macroeconomics, monetary economics, financial markets, and Bayesian time series analysis, particularly at the intersection of macroeconomics and financial economics.
Uhlig was Managing Editor of the Journal of Political Economy from 2013 to 2021 and previously served as Co-Editor of Econometrica. He consults for the Bundesbank and the Bank for International Settlements and is a member of the National Bureau of Economic Research. Uhlig earned his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Minnesota.
