Transfer Credit
If seeking to receive credit for college economics courses taken elsewhere, you must submit a written petition to Robert Herbst. His office hours are at 1:30 to 3:30 every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
Obtain a General Petition form in the College Advisers’ offices in Harper. A detailed course description and/or course syllabus, along with other supplemental course materials are required.
In general, economics elective credit is granted only for economics courses at peer institutions which have a prerequisite of intermediate microeconomics, intermediate macroeconomics, or both.
The following documentation must be brought for pre-approval consideration:
- Course description (full syllabus preferred)
- Prerequisites for the course (for example: “Principles of Economics” or “Differential Calculus”)
- Textbook(s) used for the course
- The name of the accredited institution offering the class
