
George J. Stigler Distinguished Service Professor in Economics and the College
Robert Shimer is the George J. Stigler Distinguished Service Professor in Economics and the College at the University of Chicago. His research focuses on labor economics and macroeconomics.
Shimer is a Fellow of the Econometric Society, the Society of Labor Economists, and the Society for the Advancement of Economic Theory. He is an elected member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and a recipient of the Sherwin Rosen Prize for Outstanding Contributions in the Field of Labor Economics. Shimer earned his Ph.D. in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
