
Ryan Fang is an economist and instructor at the University of Chicago Department of Economics. His research focuses on microeconomic theory and its applications, including political economy, information economics, behavioral economics, and decision theory. Fang’s current projects examine topics such as negative versus positive campaign advertising, media censorship, and evolutionary explanations for biases in decision making and belief formation. He has also explored social status and redistributive politics, as well as the relationship between the stability of authoritarian regimes and their economic and social policies. Fang received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Chicago.
