
Mikhail Golosov is the Homer J. Livingston Professor of Economics at the University of Chicago. His research combines theoretical and empirical methods to study the implications of public policy for economic outcomes. His research interests include macroeconomics, public finance, and political economy. Golosov's recent work examines topics such as the efficiency and redistributive effects of government policies, taxation, heterogeneous-agent models, and the political economy of sovereign debt.
Golosov received the Department of Economics Outstanding Research Mentor award and the Faculty Award for Excellence in PhD Teaching and Mentoring from the University of Chicago in 2024. He earned his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Minnesota.
